Canned Heat's Story of Music, Drugs, Death, Sex and Survival

Living the Blues edition by Adolfo de la Parra Arts Photography eBooks

Very honest account of the great Canned Heat and the problems and tragedies encountered including the sad deaths of Alan Wilson, Bob Hite, and Henry Vestine. Fortunately Fito de la Parra and Larry Taylor, the remaining members of the classic lineup have kept the band alive to tjis day! One of the better band biographies you will read captured by Fito who has seen it all. This is the band that combined blues, boogie, and rock in the most compelling form. They were inventive, fun, and most of all, great musicians that came together out of a great love for the blues.

Living the Blues edition by Adolfo de la Parra Arts Photography eBooks Reviews

If you were around then or want to know how it was, read it.
I tell ya, it was like going back to the sixties. If you ever wanted to know anything about Canned Heat, this is your book. "Viva el piston, Viva Canned Heat!"
I am 74 years old and always liked Canned Heat in a casual sort of way, but since reading Fito's book I have become a fan with a much deeper appreciation of the band and their music. Thank you Fito!!!
I'm only halfway through Living the Blues, but it's as good as any rock bio, memoir, or whatever I have been able to find about the wonderful music of the Sixties.

Living the Blues is the story of Canned Heat and its members and its adventures and the way it got screwed and screwed itself, as told by the drummer who contributed so much to its success, Fito de la Parra.
I gave 5 stars The book is great!
Pleasantly and painfully honest. Members of the band may have past too young and other artists may come and go,but the blues will live on. Thanks to Canned Heat and Fito de la Parra never forgetting his brothers, the music continues on as great as ever. One of the best stories I have read having to do with the music world. I highly recommend this book. It has it all. Peace and love.
